The role
The Associate Counsel serves as a senior in-house attorney focusing on labor and employment matters across the university system's administration and campuses.
Provides legal guidance on civil rights, FLSA, FMLA, ADA, Title IX, FERPA, and related higher education issues.
Reviews, drafts, and negotiates contracts and various agreements with limited supervision, delivering clear, practical advice.
Analyzes proposed legislation and policy updates, offering independent judgment and strategic recommendations.
Supports university committees and cross-campus teams, prioritizing multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
Ensures compliance with open records, open meetings, data privacy, and other public law requirements while upholding ethical standards.
