The role
Provide legal research, writing, and litigation support within the Probation Service Central Office under the direction of the Legal Chief of Staff and Deputy Commissioner - Legal Counsel.
Advise probation field staff, managers, senior staff, and executives on a broad range of legal and administrative issues.
Under the Special Assistant Attorney General designation, research, draft, and argue in court motions, appeals, or other pleadings on matters important to Probation.
Prepare summaries of relevant case law for inclusion in the Probation Quarterly Legal Digest or other advisories.
Lead or participate in special projects on topics such as confidentiality, records retention, indigency verification, interstate compact issues, and policy development.
Collaborate with internal units and committees and travel statewide as needed.
