The role
Provide Spanish medical interpretation for patients and families in consecutive and sight translation modalities.
Independently interpret simple encounters and, with periodic supervision, handle complex situations like care conferences and consents.
Translate After Visit Summaries and other clinical documents with accuracy and timeliness.
Serve as a cultural liaison and advocate for non-English speaking patients and families.
Share observations with clinicians and care staff to support quality patient care and appropriate referrals.
Respond to crisis intervention requests, arrange language services as needed, and document services in the patient chart while maintaining confidentiality.
