The role
Provide in-person medical interpretation between Arabic-speaking patients, families, and clinical teams in oncology settings.
Accurately interpret complex medical discussions, including diagnoses, procedures, consent conversations, and treatment instructions.
Clarify messages as needed and adapt communication to cultural context to ensure understanding and trust.
Serve as a cultural liaison while maintaining professionalism, confidentiality, and accurate documentation of interpreted encounters.
Translate written materials, patient communications, and educational resources as needed to support care.
Work up to 30 hours per week on-site at the Rockefeller Outpatient Pavilion with potential travel to other Manhattan locations; schedules coordinated the day before.
