The role
Provide in-person and video interpreting for patients and families with limited English proficiency.
Sight translate medical forms and instructions at the point of care.
Bridge cultural differences to facilitate clear communication between families and care providers.
Help patients navigate the healthcare system, including scheduling appointments and translating hospital literature as needed.
Apply critical thinking, strong communication, and linguistic skills to support patient care while upholding ethics and standards.
Maintain professional competency through self-study, continuing education, and compliance with hospital policies and data collection.
