The role
Interpret legal proceedings for non-English speakers or hearing-impaired individuals to ensure due process.
Provide interpretation of spoken and written language between source and target languages; translate court evidence as needed.
Testify as an expert witness regarding the accuracy of translations and transcripts.
Operate under direct supervision, maintaining strict confidentiality and professional discretion.
Must hold a valid Florida-certified court interpreter certification; 2+ years of court/legal-related experience; bachelor’s degree in English or related field.
Demonstrate strong English grammar, organizational skills, and the ability to meet deadlines while interacting professionally with officials and the public.
