The role
Listen, understand, and translate spoken English to another language for clinical encounters, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
Translate written medical documents from English to the target language while preserving clinical terminology.
Support compliance with Joint Commission standards, CMS Conditions of Participation, and civil rights/ADA requirements.
Facilitate clear communication in a high-technology tertiary medical/surgical setting among care teams and patients.
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, with three years of interpreting experience (two years in medical interpreting) required.
Credentialing options include Associated Healthcare Interpreter, Part 1 of the Certified Medical Interpreter Examination, or approved healthcare interpreter training (required).
