Cloud Engineer – Reading

The Cloud Engineer position within SSE’s central Cloud Engineering team involves working extensively on the organisation's backup capabilities using Rubrik, providing expertise in cloud and on-premises infrastructure. The role includes designing and implementing services across IaaS and PaaS cloud platforms while collaborating with various technical teams to deliver resilient and efficient solutions. Candidates will manage and optimise backup environments, contribute to automation development, and ensure security compliance and architecture integrity. They should possess experience with cloud-native architectures, scripting languages, and infrastructure-as-code tools, supporting SSE's transition to cleaner energy infrastructure. The position requires understanding of operational support, third-party software, and cloud provider environments such as AWS or Azure.
