An industrial engineer in Loughborough is responsible for analysing production processes to identify inefficiencies and opportunities for automation or redesign. They perform time studies, line balancing, and capacity modelling to support operational planning. The role involves optimising material flow, layout, and workstation design to enhance ergonomics and throughput. They lead continuous improvement projects from concept to implementation and collect production data to recognise trends and root causes. The engineer champions lean tools to deliver sustainable site-wide improvements and develops dashboards, KPIs, and reporting tools for decision support. They support cost reduction initiatives, collaborate with quality teams, and ensure all adjustments meet safety and environmental standards while leading and coaching engineering teams.
