A UK-based retail organisation is seeking a Lead Frontend Developer to join its eCommerce engineering team. The role involves providing technical leadership in frontend development with React, TypeScript, Node.js, and Material UI, and supporting the delivery of scalable, high-performance solutions. The candidate will define engineering standards, review code, mentor developers, and collaborate with stakeholders to manage priorities and risks. Experience in frontend architecture, responsive design, and UI optimisation is essential, alongside a proven track record in delivering complex web applications. Knowledge of Next.js, Micro Frontends, and cloud platforms will be advantageous. The role requires a hands-on approach to development, technical mentorship, and continuous process improvement in a high-traffic environment.
