The role

Lead the design and implementation of cloud-native applications for mission-critical programs. Architect scalable, fault-tolerant solutions using microservices, containers (Docker, Kubernetes), and serverless components across multiple cloud providers. Define and steward infrastructure as code with Terraform, CloudFormation, or ARM templates, and automate provisioning and management. Implement robust security and compliance (CIS Benchmarks, NIST, ISO 27001, SOC) including IAM, data encryption, vulnerability management, and security auditing. Design and secure cloud networking (virtual networks, subnets, routing, firewalls, load balancers, DNS) and manage storage options (object, block, file) with data lifecycle, backups, and recovery. Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions) and automate configuration management (Ansible, Chef, Puppet, SaltStack). Collaborate with development teams to translate customer needs into onboarding paths and platform solutions, lead others when appropriate, and thrive in an agile environment. This role supports mission-critical capabilities for the United States Air Force.
