The role
The Legal Counsel acts as the primary legal advisor to senior management across UK and international units, offering commercial legal guidance to various departments including marketing, procurement, and sales. They are responsible for drafting, reviewing, and negotiating diverse commercial agreements such as sales, distribution, and media contracts. The role involves supporting strategic initiatives, product launches, and marketing campaigns while ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory developments in FMCG sectors and sustainability. The Legal Counsel develops governance frameworks, manages legal risks across multiple jurisdictions, and oversees disputes and litigation processes. They instruct external legal counsel internationally and aim to enhance legal processes efficiency within the organisation. Candidates should possess a minimum of 6 years PQE as a solicitor, with experience in complex contract negotiations, and demonstrate strong stakeholder management skills.
