The role
A musician performs solo or with others in front of audiences or in recording studios, ensuring high-quality performances through rehearsals and practice. They compose and arrange original music and adaptations, reading musical scores accurately and following directional cues from conductors or producers. Musicians participate in recording sessions, broadcasts, and soundtrack productions for film or television, auditioning for roles in orchestras or ensembles as needed. Collaboration with artists, composers, producers, and directors is essential for creating diverse musical works, alongside maintaining and tuning instruments. Musicians may also teach or coach students, promote performances, and manage engagements, particularly in freelance roles. Technical skills include proficiency on instruments or vocals, strong musical notation interpretation, and familiarity with current techniques and repertoire.
