The role
The Technical Account Manager (TAM) is a client-facing engineer who designs low-voltage and security solutions and owns the relationship with assigned accounts.
This hybrid role blends 50% Technical Solution Architecture, 30% Account Management, and 20% Solution Selling.
Responsibilities include conducting technical assessments, creating scopes of work, BOMs, diagrams, standard AV/security packages, and RFP support.
Serve as the single point of contact for accounts, maintain long-term relationships with IT directors and facilities teams, and drive customer satisfaction.
Identify new needs and expansions, present clear solutions, assist with pricing and proposals, and influence decisions to drive revenue.
Key KPIs include design accuracy, account retention, CSAT, revenue growth from existing accounts, and low rate of change orders.
