The role
This hybrid Data Scientist role focuses on evaluating autonomous vehicle performance and the quality of simulation data.
You will develop evaluation frameworks for large-scale ML models, design new metrics, and interpret trends and anomalies in simulated and on-road driving data.
You will create novel statistical methods to address AV data challenges, such as rate estimation for rare events and combining real and synthetic data.
Frame ambiguous problems, derive data-driven conclusions, and communicate findings to senior stakeholders.
Collaborate with Product and Engineering teams developing the autonomous vehicle stack and simulation software, guiding deployment readiness decisions.
Based in San Francisco, CA, with partial remote options; requires a quantitative degree and 3+ years of applied experience (or a PhD) with Python/SQL/R and ML familiarity.
