The role

The Department of Philosophy at the University of Toronto Scarborough invites applications for a full-time tenure stream position in social and political philosophy. The appointment is at the rank of Assistant Professor, starting July 1, 2027. Candidates should have a PhD in philosophy or a related field, with proven research and teaching excellence in social and political philosophy. The successful candidate will pursue independent research, establish a competitive research programme, and contribute to undergraduate and graduate teaching, especially core political philosophy courses. They should demonstrate a commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion as shown through their application materials. Responsibilities include research, teaching at various levels, and departmental service, within a vibrant academic environment.
