The role
The AI journalist reports on artificial intelligence and emerging technologies, producing news, features, and enterprise stories that connect technological advances with human impact. They develop sources, break news, and craft compelling content suitable for various formats including live blogs, newsletters, and multimedia. Collaboration across departments ensures comprehensive coverage that appeals to diverse audiences, utilising a mix of storytelling techniques and technical tools. Candidates should possess at least five years' experience in journalism, with a portfolio demonstrating expertise in business and technology reporting. Excellent news judgement, clarity, and deadline management are essential, alongside a collaborative attitude and adaptability to different formats. The role is based in Toronto with a minimum of two days per week in the office, supporting flexible work arrangements.
