The role
University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust seeks an experienced senior physiotherapist for the Specialist Surgery team at Birmingham Heartlands Hospital. The role involves delivering inpatient physiotherapy services across various surgical specialties, including vascular, GI, ENT, and urology, within an acute hospital setting. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to provide specialised assessments and holistic therapy, aiming to optimise patient recovery and independence. Key responsibilities include autonomous clinical practice, supervising junior staff and students, and participating in a 7-day rota, supported by team leaders. Applicants must possess relevant UK registration, clinical expertise in surgical physiotherapy, and post-graduate CPD, with experience in elderly care, respiratory, neurological, or musculoskeletal conditions.
