Consultant General Adult Psychiatrist – Luton

This position involves leading the Luton Community Mental Health Team, providing assessment, diagnosis and management of adults with acute and severe mental illness in the community setting. The post holder will attend weekly MDT meetings, offer guidance to primary care, and support recovery-oriented approaches with a focus on quality targets. They will also be responsible for fulfilling Section 12 duties under the Mental Health Act and supporting team development. The role requires a dedicated psychiatrist with experience in acute adult psychiatry, strong leadership skills and full GMC registration. Applicants should have experience in teaching, research, and service development, and be able to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams. The post involves ensuring high standards of clinical care, meeting KPIs, and working towards service accreditation goals.
