The role
A Mechanical Craftsperson / Plumber supports healthcare estates by maintaining and testing water systems according to safety standards. The role involves planned preventative maintenance, system testing, disinfection, and breakdown repairs, with duties performed mainly at hospitals and healthcare sites. Candidates should have NVQ or City & Guilds Level 2 in Plumbing and experience with water hygiene, Legionella control, and healthcare regulations, including HTM 04-01. Technical skills include using Maximo or similar systems, reading drawings, and maintaining compliance documentation. They must work independently, follow health and safety procedures, and respond to emergency repairs. The role offers temporary-to-permanent employment within a busy healthcare environment in Birmingham.
