The role
A principal cloud engineer provides technical leadership to cloud engineering teams, managing cloud infrastructure solutions and setting standards. They create and maintain cloud technology roadmaps, ensuring medium and long-term strategies are aligned with best practices. The role involves developing and enhancing infrastructure through code, ensuring resilience, scalability, and performance. It requires experience with cloud platforms such as Azure or GCP, and expertise in Terraform, GIT, Ansible, and Puppet. The position is remote with monthly face-to-face meetings in Preston, and it involves overseeing cloud solutions that meet performance standards. The role demands a proven track record in cloud or DevOps engineering and knowledge of CI/CD processes.
