The role
Based in Haydock, this role focuses on mechanical maintenance and refurbishment of die machinery, including vertical boring machines, lathes, grinding, and high-pressure jetwash systems.
Operate overhead gantry cranes and forklifts to move equipment and prepare dies and rolls for safe despatch.
Read and interpret technical drawings, perform preventive and breakdown maintenance, and maximise production at the refurbishment facility.
Identify issues, communicate findings to the operations manager, and help meet customer-driven deadlines as part of a growing team.
Requires strong mechanical troubleshooting, a solid understanding of mechanical principles, and an engineering-based qualification; vertical boring experience is a plus.
Shift work is required (various Monday–Friday shifts with potential nights), with emphasis on safety and delivering production schedules under pressure.
