The role
As a Research Engineer, Pretraining Scaling, you own the production pretraining pipeline, ensuring reliability, efficiency, and scale for frontier models.
You’ll own model operations, performance optimization, observability, and reliability across the full stack.
You will debug complex issues from hardware and networking to training dynamics and evaluation infrastructure.
Design and run experiments to improve training efficiency, reduce step time, increase uptime, and boost model performance.
During launches, you’ll respond to on-call incidents, coordinate solutions across teams, and build production logging and evaluation dashboards.
Collaborating across offices and with multiple teams, you’ll add new capabilities to the training codebase and help scale responsible AI as systems grow.
