Head of IT
Role overview: As Head of IT, you will define and deliver the multi-year IT roadmap aligned to business goals, including growth, M&A, and European expansion. You will manage day-to-day IT operations (largely delivered by partners), oversee vendors, and translate business priorities into clear IT initiatives with delivery plans. You will lead the security posture and 'secure by design' across identity, devices, data and SaaS apps, and oversee risk management, change control, disaster recovery, and incident response. You will drive applications and data initiatives (ERP/NetSuite, data integration, and reporting), mature the Microsoft 365 stack, and enable a cloud-first path where it adds value. You will manage the IT budget, optimise cost-to-serve, and coach a growing internal IT team, while ensuring a great colleague experience through clear SLAs, self-service, and training. The role requires strong communication with the leadership team and Board, and collaboration across internal stakeholders and external partners. Working pattern is hybrid with on-site presence in Bury and occasional travel to UK sites and Europe; ability to handle occasional out-of-hours work for incidents or major projects.
