The role
Provide real-time ASL interpretation for Deaf or hard-of-hearing students in classroom settings.
Facilitate clear communication among students, teachers, and peers, adapting interpreting styles as needed.
Collaborate with educators to understand curriculum and instructional methods and contribute to assessing communication needs for IEPs.
Monitor student engagement and understanding, addressing communication barriers while maintaining confidentiality.
Uphold professional and ethical standards and pursue ongoing professional development in educational interpreting.
Work in a structured, school-based environment with regular breaks and school holidays, making a direct impact on student success.
