The role
Part-time American Sign Language interpreter supporting deaf and hard-of-hearing patients and staff in a healthcare setting.
Provide accurate and complete interpretation between American Sign Language and English across diverse signing styles and registers.
Work 24 hours per week with day shifts and an on-call requirement every two weeks, including nights and weekends during on-call weeks.
Based in Newark, DE with rotations to Wilmington, DE and Elkton, MD and other locations as needed.
Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, fluency in ASL and English (oral and written), 1-2 years of healthcare interpretation experience preferred, and RID certification preferred.
Demonstrate cultural competency, perform under pressure, and empower clear communication between patients and providers while upholding accuracy and confidentiality.
