The role
Perform comprehensive accounting and financial reporting for municipal operations, including journal entries, reconciliations, and trial balances.
Ensure accuracy and compliance with GAAP and governmental accounting standards in all financial documents and reports.
Prepare and analyze department budgets, year-end ACFR processes, and grant accounting and reporting.
Reconcile bank statements, investments, cash flow, and cash controls; investigate discrepancies and resolve issues.
Maintain fixed assets records, grant ledgers, and asset tracking systems; assist with internal and external audits.
Provide technical accounting support to departments, train staff on financial systems, and ensure adherence to city financial policies.
