The role
Provides professional English-Spanish interpretation for court proceedings to ensure equal access for Spanish-speaking individuals.
Performs simultaneous and consecutive interpreting during hearings, trials, and other court matters, with occasional sight translation.
Translates court documents and materials between English and Spanish, maintaining accuracy and confidentiality.
Researches and applies legal terminology and court procedures to support accurate interpretation and compliance with ethics (Rule 511).
Collaborates with judges, attorneys, court staff, and agencies; tracks assignments and hours; maintains certification and participates in trainings.
Operates interpreting technology and equipment; works autonomously with integrity and handles additional duties as assigned.
