The role
Operate a 17-week rota with shifts between 6am and 9pm, including weekends and bank holidays, and adapt to departmental changes as required.
Drive a range of vehicles from electric cars and vans to 3.5 tonne Lutons, delivering and collecting stock, samples, notes, and staff around hospital sites and nationally.
Provide a full distribution service to wards, departments, and external customers while upholding fleet policies and driver codes of practice.
Access patient homes or care facilities where required, using door codes and maintaining safety, dignity, and professional conduct.
Handle Pharmaceuticals and controlled drugs with accurate signing, manage movement of valuable items, and comply with legal documentation.
Support continuous service improvement, train new starters on routes, perform daily vehicle checks, use PPE, report incidents, and seek cost-efficient resource use.
