The role
A Consultant Oncologist specialising in Gynaecological and UGI cancers provides comprehensive oncology care in Stoke-on-Trent, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and participating in clinical audit, teaching, and research activities. The role involves working across hospital sites, sharing duties with colleagues, and engaging in undergraduate and postgraduate education. Candidates must possess full GMC registration, MRCP, FRCR or equivalent in medical oncology, and be on or nearing the UK Specialist Register, with relevant UK clinical experience. They should demonstrate strong communication skills, clinical audit experience, and the ability to motivate multidisciplinary teams in a challenging environment. The position requires flexibility to travel within close proximity to the hospital and to be available for on-call duties as necessary. Emphasis is placed on ongoing professional development, research application, and understanding NHS reforms and initiatives.
