The role
Construct, maintain, and repair substation equipment, wiring, and structures to sustain high system reliability for bulk transmission and high-voltage distribution networks.
Install, repair, and maintain circuit breakers, transformers, switchgear, air/load break switches, and related control and conduit systems.
Diagnose malfunctions in electrical and electronic equipment and implement corrective actions.
Work near energized equipment using live-line tools or approved bare-hand techniques with strict safety protocols.
Operate and maintain line switches and perform switching and tagging orders to clear equipment for Transmission Grid Controllers.
Pursue an A.A.S. in Electronics/Electrical Power, work full-time, obtain a CDL within the first year, and reside near the primary Transmission office.
