Clinical Patient Safety Officer
Provide senior leadership and oversight of patient safety across the organisation, driving escalation, investigation, and resolution of incidents and complaints. Lead coroners’ inquests management and clinical negligence claims with legal teams, NHS Resolution, and external partners. Lead the implementation, monitoring, and continuous improvement of the PSIRF and PSIRP, ensuring compliance with national standards. Perform thematic analysis of patient safety intelligence to identify risks, trends, and opportunities for improvement; produce high-quality reports for senior leaders and regulators. Promote a culture of openness and learning by directing investigations, reviews, and targeted training; support clinical teams to embed safe practices and reduce harm. Engage with clinicians, managers, regulators, and external partners to drive safety improvements, governance, and risk management.
