The role

Provides interpretation between signed and spoken language for Deaf/Hard of Hearing clinicians across clinical, educational, research, and administrative settings.
Interprets complex medical information, including diagnoses, medical histories, and treatment plans, ensuring accuracy and patient confidentiality.
Coordinates language access services with the deaf physician and collaborates with a multidisciplinary team; maintains regular schedule alignment.
Works with other interpreters as needed and engages in ongoing professional development to maintain credentials.
Maintains position-related documentation (e.g., time logs) and adheres to codes of ethics and confidentiality.
Operates in high-stakes environments with discretion, professionalism, and the ability to multi-task under pressure.
