Peripatetic Musician – Double Bass

The Peripatetic Musician in Stourbridge is responsible to the Director of Music for delivering up to 30 individual 30-minute lessons annually per student across various abilities. The role involves following a termly timetable, maintaining attendance records, and preparing students for practical exams like Associated Board assessments. The musician will encourage regular practice and support extracurricular ensembles through rehearsals during lessons. Monitoring student progress and providing annual reports to parents and the Music Department are key duties, alongside participation in performance appraisal and training. The ideal candidate will be a graduate instrumentalist or experienced performer in double bass, skilled in teaching a range of standards from beginner to post grade 8. A commitment to safeguarding children and young people is essential, along with current teaching methods awareness, and the ability to contribute to school life positively.
