Industrial Engineer – Gaydon

The industrial engineer leads a team of manufacturing engineers within the Trim and Final area, providing guidance, support, and mentorship. They focus on lean process planning, cost reduction, waste elimination, and VSM analysis to assess and enhance operational effectiveness. The role involves studying ergonomics to ensure safety and boost productivity, alongside process improvements like Poka yoke and cycle time reduction. The engineer identifies opportunities in labour productivity, automation, standardisation, and lead time reduction, using time studies and line balancing techniques. They support new product introductions, process improvements, and compliance with safety standards while fostering teamwork and innovation within the manufacturing engineering team. Proficiency in CAD tools such as AutoCAD is essential to design workstations, material flow paths, and factory layouts.
