Senior Mechanical Engineer – Eynsham

A senior mechanical engineer is sought to lead the design, development, and production of complex precision mechanical and opto-mechanical systems. The role involves defining mechanical architectures, developing advanced mechanisms, and leading engineering workstreams, ensuring compliance with performance, manufacturing, and reliability standards. Collaboration with experts in optics, materials science, chemistry, and manufacturing is essential to deliver fully integrated products throughout their lifecycle. The engineer will oversee technical reviews, support supplier development and contribute to manufacturing processes, from prototype to scalable production. Proficiency in engineering analysis, FEA, GD&T, tolerance analysis, and CAD software like SolidWorks is required, alongside experience in precision assemblies and materials selection. A background in adaptive optics, scientific instrumentation, or photonics is highly advantageous for this role.
