Senior Accountant – Financial Reporting

The Senior Accountant will lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close cycles for statutory insurance reporting and consolidated US GAAP reporting. This role requires fluency in insurance accounting frameworks, strong reconciliations, and the ability to prepare portions of financial statements, footnotes, and supporting schedules. Responsibilities include detailed account reconciliations, journal entry preparation, expense allocations, and assisting with consolidation. The position supports management reporting packages and ad hoc financial analyses; identify opportunities to improve reporting workflows, strengthen internal controls, and document procedures to enhance consistency and cross-training. It is not a transactional accounting role; it is focused on financial reporting within a regulated environment. Required qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance, 3+ years of accounting/audit experience, Property & Casualty insurance experience, knowledge of US GAAP and statutory accounting principles, strong Excel skills, and the ability to manage multiple deadlines. Preferred qualifications include CPA (or active progress toward licensure) and experience with Oracle Fusion or comparable ERP systems.
