The role
A Principal Network Engineer role involves leading the design, assurance, and deployment of secure network solutions across enterprise and operational technology environments. The position requires producing technical documentation, acting as a specialist in routing, switching, firewalls, and infrastructure technologies, and collaborating with architects and project teams. The candidate will provide technical guidance and mentorship, support governance and risk management, and escalate complex technical challenges. Strong experience in complex network and security solutions within critical environments is essential, with excellent communication skills for technical and non-technical stakeholders. Knowledge of transport, rail, or similar sectors is preferred, along with relevant certifications and the ability to work within a hybrid working model.
