The role
Lead acquisitions and co-acquisitions in science fiction and fantasy, building a profitable list of about 5-8 titles per year.
Develop editorial strategy by evaluating manuscripts, negotiating major terms with agents, and coordinating with authors to align with the strategic vision.
Oversee editorial development, frontlist fiction, and project management across production, design, marketing, publicity, and rights.
Craft compelling internal and external copy, including tip sheets, catalogs, and jacket materials, to position titles for sales.
Present titles at internal meetings and advise on cover strategy, communicating jacket directions to authors and agents.
Build and maintain relationships with literary agents and tastemakers to support author care and market success.
