Payments Legal Counsel - VP

Based in Northampton, UK, this role provides in-house legal advice on payments activities including merchant acquiring, card issuance, cross-border payments, and payment systems. Advise on PSD2, the Payments Services Regulations, and related regulatory requirements, including Good Customer Authentication and Regulatory Technical Standards. Draft, review and negotiate payment-related agreements to ensure compliance and robust risk controls. Represent the organization in litigation, arbitration, and regulatory investigations related to payment services. Identify regulatory changes, translate them into policies and controls, and support risk management and governance. Collaborate with stakeholders, demonstrate strong communication and judgment, and contribute to strategy and continuous improvement.
