The role
The Financial Accountant manages financial reporting, controls, and compliance across a multi-site organisation, handling month-end processes, balance sheets, and statutory accounts. They oversee cash flow forecasting, treasury activities, and VAT and tax compliance, ensuring accuracy and regulatory adherence. The role involves leading a finance team, developing processes, and supporting audit requirements, requiring strong technical knowledge and organisational skills. Strong communication skills are essential for liaising with various stakeholders, alongside a proactive approach to process improvements. Candidates should have relevant accounting qualifications and experience within complex or regulated environments, especially in education or public sectors. Occasional UK-wide travel may be required to support the organisation's wider network.
