The role
The Lead DBA manages the architecture, operations, and strategic direction of database platforms, ensuring environment security, scalability, and performance. They work with engineering teams to define standards, guide decisions, and mentor staff, combining tactical and strategic responsibilities. The role involves designing high-availability infrastructure, ensuring regulatory compliance, and collaborating on schema optimisation and automation pipelines. Candidates should possess extensive experience with relational and non-relational databases, Linux scripting, and automation tools, alongside strong leadership skills. Knowledge of cloud environments, scalability strategies, and observability tools is desirable.
