The role
A specialism doctor provides high-quality medical care for patients within a rehabilitation setting, working closely with a multidisciplinary team including psychiatrists, psychologists, nurses, and occupational therapists. They participate in the development of individualised treatment plans, conduct comprehensive assessments, and review patients' medical and psychiatric needs regularly. They are responsible for ensuring patient-centred care that is safe and effective, maintaining accurate medical records, and complying with the Mental Health Act and CQC regulations. The role demands excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team, along with a commitment to professional development and evidence-based practice. The position involves working within a trauma-informed service for adults with complex mental health needs, promoting recovery, independence, and safe community reintegration.
