The role
A SQL Database Administrator in Cheltenham manages, maintains and optimises Microsoft SQL Server and Azure SQL databases, ensuring performance and security. They handle backup, restore and disaster recovery processes to uphold data integrity and business continuity, while monitoring systems to identify and resolve performance bottlenecks. Developing database maintenance plans and supporting high availability and resilience are key duties, alongside supporting infrastructure and platform initiatives. They support database security through permissions, access management, and security best practices and collaborate with development teams to facilitate deployments and updates.
