Healthcare Scientific Support Worker / Medical Laboratory Assistant

Work under remote supervision of a Registered Biomedical Scientist following defined Examination Procedures (EPs) to perform tests and generate reports. Assess sample suitability, prepare specimens, and manage reagent/calibrator selection and subculturing per EPs. Conduct manual and automated testing with high accuracy, while reviewing quality control data prior to BMS approval. Enter results into the Laboratory Information System, maintain data integrity and confidentiality of patient information. Coordinate with medical and nursing staff to report urgent results by phone and liaise with external laboratories as required. Support equipment maintenance, pathology logistics, stock control, and participate in shift work in a containment level 3 environment.
