The role
A PostgreSQL Database Administrator is sought to support a critical data programme with responsibilities including designing, optimising, and maintaining scalable database environments. The role involves implementing access controls, encryption, and auditing, as well as managing backups, restores, and disaster recovery measures. Monitoring system health and performance using PostgreSQL and AWS tools is essential, along with applying patches and managing version upgrades for AWS-managed PostgreSQL instances. The candidate must have a proven track record in schema design, performance tuning, and query optimisation, with practical AWS RDS experience. Active SC clearance and eligibility for NPPV3 are required, supporting a secure and compliant working environment.
