The role
A mechanical manager is responsible for leading and managing mechanical teams across workshop, site, and project activities within marine and heavy engineering environments. The role involves overseeing mechanical maintenance, repair, fabrication, installation, and modifications, ensuring safety, quality, and efficiency in project delivery. The candidate must have strong leadership, technical, and commercial skills, including estimating, planning, and client liaison. They must ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental standards, and uphold quality standards. Technical knowledge of drawings, specifications, and relevant engineering systems is essential, alongside excellent organisational and communication skills. The role demands at least five years' experience in related industries and a recognised mechanical engineering qualification.
