The role
The role requires sourcing, researching, and reporting on cultural and entertainment news, including live-blogging events and compiling accurate, engaging articles. Candidates should be experienced in online journalism, with a strong news sense and familiarity with digital best practices. The position involves working closely with the culture and audience teams to maximise readership and build audience engagement. It demands proficiency in live reporting, understanding of media laws, and in-depth knowledge of major cultural events such as the Oscars, Eurovision, and others. Candidates must have at least three years' relevant experience, an NCTJ qualification, and the ability to produce original content matching the brand's standards. The role involves evening and weekend shifts to cover live events and breaking news, requiring flexibility and a proactive attitude.
