The role
The manufacturing engineer develops, implements, and evaluates manufacturing processes to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and promote sustainability. They collaborate with cross-functional teams to design process layouts, troubleshoot issues, and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations. The role involves specifying and overseeing equipment installation, maintaining existing machinery, and designing fixtures to support production. Cost analysis and lean manufacturing principles are central to identifying and implementing improvements, often involving collaboration with procurement and supply chain teams. Developing comprehensive process documentation and training staff on new systems are key responsibilities, alongside driving continuous improvement and staying abreast of industry trends.
