The role
Lead internal automation projects from user requirements through design, budgeting, timelines, procurement, building, testing, and commissioning to deliver automated systems for manufacturing.
Mentor and supervise junior project engineers, promoting internal methods and best practices in electrical cabinets, cable assemblies, and mechanical drawings.
Ensure designs are released into design control within established quality systems.
Manage purchasing and vendor activities for COTS and machined parts, driving cost efficiencies and on-time delivery.
Source electronic and mechanical components, analyze part designs for feasibility, and triage multi-project issues to protect critical paths.
Maintain compliance with safety policies and cultivate strong relationships with distributors and vendors while adapting to departmental priorities.
